This page explains the terms and conditions for M&M Furniture Ltd. Using this site, placing an order (s) and/or using the services we offer, means you accept our Terms of Sale.

Key points:
  • We accept a 20% deposit for products in stock and made for specific orders.
  • This deposit is non-refundable on cancellation on the part of the customer. Any payments over and above the deposit will be refunded when the order is cancelled.
  • Payments are by cash, bank transfer, or card payments (in person at the showroom only).
  • Delivery is only up to the door of the building unless the customer orders specifically our delivery and installation service (except the flat packed products).
  • The total cost of the order is the price of products ordered plus delivery fee (if applicable).
  • All prices include VAT (if applicable) in the current rate and are correct at the time of entering information into the system.
  • Warranty on products vary with price and cover only manufacturing and technical defects, not damage caused by wear and tear while in use by customer.
  1. Orders can be placed online, on the phone or in person at our showroom in Edinburgh.
  2. You will be asked to provide your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and any other required information. We promise to keep this information classified.
  3. If you are placing your order via website, in order to confirm your order and also accelerate the delivery procedure, please call our showroom to double-check the order has come through. Automatically we will give you the approximate date of delivery for your product.
  4. All the orders are processed from our showroom in Edinburgh.
  5. Delivery of products from stock is up to 5 working days.
  6. If the product is currently not in stock the standard delivery time is 4 to 6 weeks. However, due to occasional circumstances beyond our control, we may not be able to deliver the product within the agreed time, in which case we will contact you as soon as possible, in order to notify you.
  1. Photographs/images displayed on our website represent the finished product. We strive our best to represent colours as accurately as possible.
  2. However the goods supplied may vary slightly in colour, shade, or texture, in particular natural products such as wood or leather. Leather products are made from high quality leather and may not be uniform in colour or texture and will have natural marks and imperfections/blemishes. Where indicated, some images have been digitally created to illustrate the range of colours available for this range. These colours will depend on your monitor and printer, and therefore will not give the 100% true appearance of the finished product.
  1. Sizes and descriptions are given in good faith based on information from our suppliers. Executions meet industry standards for dimensional tolerance differences. Due to the lack of some of the new materials, changes in regulations or requirements and for the safety of certain products supplied by M&M Furniture Ltd., there may be slight differences between the actual article and those submitted in the form of samples or patterns. If this is the case we will do our best to keep you updated.
  2. Most of our furniture that comes fully assembled, however we also have furniture that comes in flat packs for and has to be assembled by the customer. Further information on individual products is available on our website. You can also call us to find out.

At M&M Furniture Ltd. we aim to provide you with the best quality of goods and services, so all the furniture we sell are covered by 3, 6, 9 and 12 months warranty depending on the suppliers and prices - unless stated otherwise, for example ex-display pieces. Each product in our showroom and our website will clearly state the warranty period it is covered by.
  2. The warranty covers only manufacturing defects of the product. Not the damage caused by wear and tear while the product is being used by the customer.
  3. Warranty applies and is limited as follows:

  1. M&M Furniture Ltd. must be immediately notified in writing or by email within seven days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent. If this is indeed a manufacturing defect then it should not take long to discover.
  2. M&M Furniture Ltd. shall be given the first opportunity to make repairs, replacement or corrections to the defective sofa at no cost to owner within a reasonable period of time. (The manufacturer reserves the right to lengthen the term).
  3. Under no circumstances shall M&M Furniture Ltd be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever, arising out of the use or inability to use because of the sofa defect.
  4. M&M Furniture Ltd. does not have a returns policy for non-faulty goods. We can only replace goods if they do not match your order, or if they are defective. If the customer is not pleased with the product for any other personal or subjective reasons, we cannot do anything about it.
  1. M&M Furniture Ltd. charges a deposit against every order. This deposit is non-refundable under normal circumstances. We might make an exception based on our discretion.
  2. We charge a 10% deposit for products in stock, and a 25% deposit for products which need to be ordered up. Please make absolutely sure before placing the deposit on a product. We are unable to refund any deposits. The outstanding payment can be made on or before the delivery date at any time. We do not do finance deals.
  3. We accept payments in cash or via internet bank transfer. Card payments can be made in person at our showroom, not over the internet or phone. Customers can pay by card only if they want to pay the full amount up front at the beginning. If you want to split it up into deposit and later payment, we can only accept cash or bank transfer. Credit cards have an addition fee of £5.

  1. If the product is in stock, we try to deliver it as soon as we can. Ordered products take 4-6 weeks to be delivered.
  2. The cost of delivery is defined based on the distance of your postcode from our office. You can personally check the distance in a very simple way. Using Google Maps, please enter your post code and our post code (EH5 1PW) https://maps.google.co.uk/ Then just select the appropriate delivery zone from the price list.
1 to 50 miles cost of delivery - £50 
51 to 99 miles cost of delivery - £70 
100 to 149 miles cost of delivery - £90 
149 to 200 miles cost of delivery - £110 

  1. Our delivery charges are very reasonable. We send two couriers to deliver our product. They will deliver the product to the room that the furniture is going to. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the delivery team could gain easy access to destination. Please make sure the area you want the furniture placed is cleared. 
  2. As a two-person delivery and installation service - our delivery team will unpack the furniture install it in the room of your choice, remove all packing materials from your home and recycle wherever possible.
  3. We will provide you with ample notice and the option to choose your own delivery date and time within reason. When delivery date has been set the customer must be able to receive the product at this date. If there is no one to receive the product, while attempting delivery, the order will be returned to our warehouse and failed delivery fee will be applied to the customer who will have to pay the fee before re-arranging delivery.
  4. Customers also have the option of collecting the purchased products from our store. Please let us know as soon as possible.
  1. Unfortunately we are unable to collect and dispose your old furniture. However, please do not dispose your old sofas, tables, beds, if possible, until delivery, in case of the unlikely event of a problem with the delivery as we cannot guarantee replacement furniture.
  1. Customer Contract regulations only apply to your order if the goods have not been custom made to your specifications, or if you have not examined the product in one of our showrooms or stands. If the Customer Contract Regulations do apply, and, for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return your order within 14 days of delivery. We will provide a full refund for the purchase price of the goods (unless custom-made product, see bespoke product terms), but not any delivery charges - please, note, that the cost of delivery is a separate service which is non-refundable.
  2. If you decide to cancel items within an order that are bespoke, made to measure or have been specially ordered for you, it may be unlikely that we will be able to sell those at the full selling price to another customer. In those instances, we have the right to deduct a cancellation fee from your refund which is 30% of the total price for the final product. Please, note, that the cost of delivery is a separate service which is non-refundable.
  3. If you would like to change or cancel an order  before delivery has taken place, please contact a member of our team by either emailing us at mmfurniture.office@gmail.com or on 01316294434 any time between 10.00am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
  4. Should you wish to return the goods it is your responsibility to take good care of the furniture. You are the owner of the furniture once it has been delivered to you and you are liable for any loss or damage. Items must be returned in their original packaging. Items which are not adequately packed at the time of return will not be taken, in which case you will be charged the same amount of what you paid for the goods when ordering. Please, note, that with the exception of faulty merchandise, for hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept the return of certain items which have been opened (e.g. mattresses and pillows). This includes any defects caused also by animals. If you want to test such items, please, retain it in the bag until you are sure you want to keep it. Self-assembly furniture cannot be returned after the partial or complete assembly, unless one of the items is defective, and we have been informed about this in the first place.
  5. It is your responsibility to return items to our central delivery point in a good condition. However M&M Furniture Ltd understand that many customers do not have the means to do this, and so will arrange collection during normal business hours (Monday - Friday) if requested. A charge equivalent to the two man delivery fee will be made to cover the cost of collecting the item, also subject to the availability of a delivery vehicle, your location and complexity of the uplift.
  6. For furniture items that require a two man uplift you will be required to pay an uplift charge. This charge may be higher than the original delivery charge as the initial delivery cost is subsidized by M&M Furniture Ltd.
Your furniture may also be subject to a returns charge if the items are bespoke or made to measure specially for you.
Please note there will be no charge for any return if the goods are faulty or do not match the original order correctly. In these instances replacement goods will be delivered free of charge as soon as items are available.
Please, note, that a refund will only take place after the goods have been returned, inspected by our returns department and deemed to be in a suitable condition.

These Conditions of Contract, and the Contract, shall be governed by and interpreted in Accordance with the Law of Scotland. The Purchaser and the Seller each submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courtsin so far as not already subject thereto.
